The Animated Lord of the Rings: Part One

Hey all. Yeah, I know I promised more frequent updates, but I got sidetracked in two of the biggest projects Pop Arena has ever handled. One of them is this, Part One of a three part review of Ralph Bakshi's epically stupid animated Lord of the Rings film. If you think the first third was dumb, wait till you see part two, where orcs wear voodoo masks, and part three, where Gollum spots a british accent. Don't expect Part Two right away, I might do a few smaller articles between each part. As for the other big project, well, let's say you ain't seen nothing like it.

You can read the article HERE!

The Girls of Spider-Man 3

Hey, my first article on Pop Arena since the move! In the same light of my Spider-Man 3 Battle Royale article, here are some of my thoughts on the recent casting of some lead female roles in Spider-Man 3. You can read it HERE!

So... um, some debate, I've offically quit my position at the 7th Level. I won't go into details here, since 7th would hunt me down and scream BULLSHIT MOTHER FUCKER no matter what I said, things just weren't working out as I expected. So, keeps your eyes here from now on for the latest Pop Arena articles.

HOLY CRAP I'M NOT DEAD

I'M NOT DEAD, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!

Yes, I am firmly secure here in California. I've got room and board, just days away from getting a job, and now, I have my first article of 2006 on The 7th Level.

In what will be the first entry in a nine part series, here's my episode review of The Storyteller, Jim Henson's last projects before he died. The episode in questions is "Hans My Hedgehog," in which a guy in a hedgehog suit tries to woo a princess on the back of a giant rooster. You can read it HERE!

*Sigh*. It's good to be back!

Important Pop Arena News

Hey, P-A fans. I got of the important news-es for ya. In just a few short days I'm gonna be doing the single most important thing I've done in a long time. On the 19th, I'll have offically moved out of my parents' house. Where to? Sunny Fairfield, California, the city of my birth. I don't know exactly what will happen in the long run, but I'm gonna start off at my grandparents' house till I can find a proper place of my own.

What does this mean for you, my faithful viewers? Well, no word on what my computer situation. I'll have to buy a new computer for myself, since the one I use now is both mine and my brother's, and he's not allowing me to take it. This means no Pop Arena updates for a while. I may get some 7th Level articles in if I can get access to my cousin's or the library's computer, but I won't be able to display the updates on the main page. I will announce them here, so keep your eyes peeled. I do plan to start a new running feature at the beginning of 2006 on the 7th Level, so keep an eye open for that too.

If things go right, I'll end up with a computer by mid-December, but there just isn't any guarantee. If you're stuck up for updates, I suggest looking at the sites on my Link page. I recommend Scary-Crayon in particular.

So, this is Greg Stevens, writer of Pop Arena and The 7th Level, signing off. I'll see you all on those hot California beaches!

A Trio of Halloween Updates!

Hey, Guys & Ghouls! We have three, count em, THREE new Halloween articles for you all at once, two from Pop Arena's 2nd cousin, The 7th Level, and one Pop Arena exclusive. I'm all over the board!

First up, a movie review of Blood Moon, Canada's take on the Freak Show. While there are hardly any scares here, there's a lot of deep commentary and gothic style. Plus, a wolf girl chases a tiny dicked Shawn Ashmore through the woods. Plus, TIM CURRY. You can read 7th Level review HERE!

Also on 7th Level, the staff all collabed together for one big Halloween article. Mine's the 4th entry, if you want to skip around, but I recommend reading the entire thing. Read my adventures as I try to be a radio for Halloween in '89, plus see the MST3K pumpkin I made. You can read it HERE!

Finally, we have a detailed look into Orofino's Haunted House of Horrors, perhaps the only attempt Orofino tried to be spooky this year. So, does it get props or flops. You can read my review HERE!

There's something for the whole family!
